Medieval Towers
Symbols of wealth and power from the golden age of Kratovo
Once, on both sides of the Tabachka River that cuts through Kratovo, there were 12-17 towers - 5 on the right and 7 on the left bank. Today 6 remain, built of mortar and semi-hewn stone. Their construction is debated - some believe pre-Ottoman, but most researchers date them to the Ottoman period based on architecture.
Simikeva Tower

The tallest and best preserved tower in Kratovo. Built on 4 floors with multiple openings and balconies on the top floor. The first floor is 3 meters high with a wooden entrance door. The walls in the lower part are the thickest. On the eastern wall there is a fireplace. The dome on the fourth floor is made of processed stone.
Legend
Legend says there is a tunnel under the tower leading to the Manceva River.
